2011 - Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility

Children's Dental Village was recently recognized by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and the When Work Works project, a nation-wide initiative that highlights how effective and flexible workplaces can yield positive business results and help employees succeed at work and home.

Employers of all sizes, in the public and private sectors, for-profit and not-for-profit were eligible for the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. The team at Children's Dental Village was invited to complete a questionnaire that asked about their individual use of and experiences with flexibility and other aspects of an effective workplace, and the supportiveness of their workplace culture. The results of the survey were submitted to a rigorous scoring methodology that emphasized the real life experiences of employees and incorporated national benchmarks for employer practices. To win, applicants must have ranked in the top 20% of U.S. employers in terms of their programs and practices for creating effective and flexible workplaces.

Children's Dental Village was pleased to have been recognized for this prestigious award!

2006 - HERO Award

Our resident dogs, Star & Sunshine received the annual F.A.C.C.S. (Friends of Animal Care & Control) HERO Award. The annual award is given to recognize and honor the impact animals have on our lives through truly heroic efforts of service or personal survival. To read more about Star & Sunshine, visit their special Therapy Dogs page.

If you have ever had to take a child to the dentist, you will really appreciate this story! Start and Sunshine are golden retriever sisters who belong to Dr. Alan and Joyce Anne Longfellow. Joyce Anne Longfellow noticed that her dogs were naturally so gentle and comforting that she took them to be trained as therapy dogs. Then, one day during a rainstorm, Joyce Anne brought the girls into the dental practice to keep them dry. They were such a hit with the patients they have been coming to the office ever since to provide comfort to patients during their time of need.
