Children’s Dental Village Donates Comfort Blankets
Children cherish comfort blankets and having a security blanket available helps children adapt to new situations and aids their healing. Joyce Anne and Beverly learned about the Cardon Children’s Medical Center wish list through their membership on the Banner Community Council. The staff at Children’s Dental Village created the “blanky” project as part of their ongoing community outreach projects – each making a fleece blanket. September 8th, 2010 Joyce Anne Longfellow, Co-Owner of Children’s Dental Village and Beverly Adams, Chief Operating Officer, delivered the twenty-four colorful, hand-made comfort blankets to Cardon Children’s Medical Center. Sue Eaton, Sr. Manager, Child Life Department, Amy Funk-Herrera, Child Life Specialist and Meredith Jenkins, Child Life Assistant, received the blankets and said they will be given to children during their stay at the medical center and go home with them when they are discharged.
