<<< Return to Services IV/Sedation Appointments As pediatric dental specialists, Dr. Longfellow and Dr. Padilla have additional training and expertise in the use of oral medications for the purpose of sedation. Apprehension and anxiety are common responses when it comes to dental procedures. An oral sedative medication may be recommended for your child to help provide a more pleasant experience for them, and gain the level of cooperation necessary to administer dental treatment. In addition to oral sedation, Children's Dental Village also offers IV Sedation with a mobile anesthesia service. Every child tolerates dental treatment differently. In our attempt to provide the most positive dental experience, Dr Longfellow or Dr Padilla may recommend an IV Sedation appointment for your child. An IV Sedation is typically recommended in cases where dental needs are extensive, oral sedation medications have not been effective, or the child is too young to tolerate treatment in any other way.
